The Laguna Beach High School wrestling team delivered a full day of exciting competition at the 41st Annual Laguna Hills Invitational. Leading the way for Laguna Beach were juniors Alek Ramirez and Xavier Brooks, ranked 6th and 1st in Orange County, who once again proved themselves among the top wrestlers in Orange County, earning podium finishes and continuing a season-long streak of tournament success.

Breakers wrestling opened their 2026 calendar with continued momentum, turning in strong performances across two varsity tournaments, with five athletes bringing home hardware and one MVP.

With two LBHS wrestlers now ranked among the best in California, the Breakers' performance at the Mann Classic has further solidified the program's upward trajectory within California high school wrestling.

Xavier Brooks claims 215lb championship and MVP while Alek Ramirez locks in third as Breakers Wrestling asserts early-season dominance at the Cossarek Classic.

With Irvine lacking a 215-pound wrestler, LBHS transfer Junior Xavier Brooks moved up to heavyweight to secure points for Laguna Beach. Despite facing a 70-pound weight difference, he closed the meet with a sensational pin in his debut victory, an energizing moment for Breakers Wrestling.

Competitors from over 30 Southern California high school wrestling programs filled the brackets for the staple Orange County event. Laguna Hills JV/Frosh served as the 2025/26 season opener for five Laguna Beach wrestlers.
