Every Breakers Wrestler reached the podium at the Pacific Coast League Finals. 2 awarded Champions, and 8 advancing to CIF. Breakers brought their largest roster ever to the Pacific Coast League Finals, and every athlete earned a place on the podium, a first in program history. The Pacific Coast League proved a showcase for the team’s depth and emerging talent. The Laguna Beach High School wrestling program sends 8 wrestlers CIF Southern Section Championships.

2026 Masters: LBHS Qualifies First-Ever Pair
Widely considered one of the toughest state qualifiers in the country, the Wrestling Masters Meet brings together only the top finishers from each CIF divisional championship, placing Brooks and Ramirez among Southern California’s elite competitors. Brooks arrives at Masters as a sectional champion, while Ramirez enters battle-tested after successfully navigating one of CIFs most demanding paths to placement.

Facing elite competition early on forces his athletes to develop faster, build mental toughness, and learn how to compete under pressure. Rather than seeing program size as a limitation, Laguna Beach Wrestling uses it as motivation. According to head coach Barron Zepeda, competing against larger programs is not a disadvantage, but a necessary part of growth.

Leading the way for Laguna Beach were juniors Alek Ramirez and Xavier Brooks, ranked 6th and 1st in Orange County, who once again proved themselves among the top wrestlers in Orange County, earning podium finishes and continuing a season-long streak of tournament success.

2025 Newport Harbor Classic: LBHS Opens Season with 2nd-Place Finish
Laguna Beach High School Wrestling Junior Alek Ramirez, ranked 7th in Orange County at 126 pounds, placed 2nd with an impressive 3–1 record. Ramirez battled through a tough bracket all the way to the finals, where his only loss came in a 7–8 double-overtime match against a top-45 wrestler in the state of California.
