8 Qualify for CIF: Pacific Coast League Finals

The Laguna Beach High School wrestling program sends 8 wrestlers CIF Southern Section Championships.









On February 6, Breakers brought their largest roster ever to the Pacific Coast League Finals, and every athlete earned a place on the podium, a first in program history. The Pacific Coast League proved a showcase for the team’s depth and emerging talent:
Three League Champions (two Varsity, one Frosh)
Five CIF Qualifiers
Three CIF Alternates
Varsity League Placers & CIF Qualifiers:
Alek Ramirez (128 lbs, Junior) – 1st, League Champion, CIF Qualifier, Orange County Wrestler ranked #6, California Honorable Mention in his first state-ranked season.
Xavier Brooks (217 lbs, Junior) – 1st, League Champion, CIF Qualifier, ranked #2 in Orange County and #22 in California,
Sasha Walshe (117 lbs, Junior) – 2nd place, CIF Qualifier
Coby Busick (167 lbs, Junior) – 3rd place, CIF Qualifier
Aris Azadizi (134 lbs, Senior) – 4th place, CIF Qualifier
Varsity Alternates:
PJ Kappel (108 lbs, Freshman) – 5th, CIF Alternate
Mason Mikulin (140 lbs, Senior) – 5th, CIF Alternate
Kishore Stock (159 lbs, Junior) – 5th, CIF Alternate

This season stands out for its unprecedented participation and consistency of the athletes. Every wrestler on the team has experienced the thrill of having their hand raised in victory in front of a cheering crowd, a testament to their commitment, resilience, and skill.
The Breakers head to the CIF Southern Section Championships at John Glenn High School, Anaheim, February 13–14, 2026, bringing with them a momentum-fueled roster of CIF qualifiers, alternates. With a record-breaking season behind them and championship ambition ahead, Laguna Beach wrestling is riding the crest of a truly historic campaign.
