Alek Ramirez Claims Silver as Breakers Open 2025 Wrestling Season at The Newport Harbor Classic

The Laguna Beach Wrestling team opened its season at the Newport Harbor Classic on November 22nd, 2025, competing against 24 teams across Southern California. The Breakers had one wrestler place in the tournament, taking home silver.
Junior Alek Ramirez, currently ranked 7th in Orange County at 126 pounds, placed 2nd with an impressive 3–1 record. Ramirez battled through a tough bracket all the way to the finals, where his only loss came in a 7–8 double-overtime match against a top-45 wrestler in the state of California.
The Breakers will compete next at the 21st Annual Laguna Hills JV/Frosh Tournament on November 29, hosted by Laguna Hills High School.
Wrestling begins at 9:30 am.
