Laguna Beach High School Wrestling delivered a breakout weekend at Cossarek Classic (Dec. 5–6, 2025) hosted by Westminster High School, earning an individual 215lb champion, Upper-Weight MVP, and a third-place finish, up against 34 California High School programs in a tournament stacked with ranked competitors.

Xavier Brooks Claims Champion and MVP at 215 lbs

Xavier Brooks put out a dominant weekend at 215 pounds, finishing 4–0 to earn the Cossarek Classic Champion and MVP honors. Brooks showcased his aggressive pace, control from neutral, and relentless top pressure, finishing three opponents by first-period fall and one by major decision.

Junior Alek Ramirez fought confidently in the 126-pound bracket, finishing 3rd with a sensational 5–1 record. He added hardware to his runner-up finish at last week’s Newport Harbor Classic, continuing his strong early-season streak.
